Packing and Storage Tips
- If you are planning on going into storage for an extended period of time, take the time to visit the facility where your valuable goods will be stored. This will ease your mind about extended storage if you see a well-maintained and clean warehouse.
- When packing, distribute the weight as evenly as you can, balancing both sides and back with heavier objects.
- Use small boxes for books and distribute them throughout the container. Paper is very heavy, and if stacked on one side will prevent the crane from being able to safely lift your container.
- To prevent scratching during transport, you may purchase or rent our felt blankets or quilted pads, to pack around your wooden furniture and any other delicate goods.
- Label all boxes in several places for easy location when you unpack
- Never store mirrors or large pictures flat, stand them up with pads or blankets to protect them or use a mirror pack.
